The Modern Way to Share Faith Without Awkwardness
We’ve all been there, and it’s an incredibly uncomfortable feeling.
You’re sitting with a colleague, a neighbor, or a friend, and you feel that familiar tug in your heart. You want to share your faith with them. You want to tell them about the hope, peace, and transformation you’ve found. But immediately, a wave of anxiety hits you.
You start thinking: “If I bring up religion, is it going to get weird? Am I going to sound preachy? What if they shut down or think I’m judging them?” So, instead of saying something, you swallow your words, change the subject, and walk away feeling guilty.
For decades, the traditional way of sharing faith relied heavily on confrontation. It involved standing on street corners with megaphones, knocking on strangers' doors, or aggressively cornering people with theological arguments. In today's world, those old methods don't just feel awkward—they actively push people away. Modern society is highly skeptical of loud rhetoric, but it is deeply hungry for authentic, tangible love.
If you want to share your faith in a way that feels natural, commands deep respect, and draws people in instead of pushing them away, you need to change your approach. You need to stop arguing theology and start delivering solutions. At the Apostolic Theological & Technical Training Center (AT&TTC) in Kitale, we train believers to master the modern, most effective way to share faith: through professional, compassionate service.
1. Shift from "Preaching at" to "Listening to"
The modern way to share faith doesn't start with opening your mouth; it starts with opening your ears. People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
When you study Counseling Psychology at AT&TTC, you learn the advanced behavioral science of active listening and emotional empathy. When you sit with someone who is going through a bitter divorce, battling anxiety, or mourning a loss, you don't overwhelm them with generic platitudes. You use professional therapeutic tools to help them process their pain.
Because you are treating their psychological reality with professional competence, they trust you. And it is within that safe, unforced environment of trust that doors naturally open for you to introduce the ultimate Source of your healing and peace—without a single shred of awkwardness.
2. Earn a Practical Passport into Closed Spaces
There are places your church choir or street evangelism team can never enter. High school principal offices, corporate boardrooms, county hospital wards, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have strict rules against open proselytizing.
But do you know who they gladly welcome, put on the payroll, and give full access to? Certified Chaplains.
By spending just 3 months in AT&TTC's fast-track Chaplaincy & Rescue Mission course, you earn a professional, accredited passport into the marketplace. When you walk into a hospital or a school as a licensed chaplain, you aren't an awkward intruder; you are an official institutional asset. You are there to handle crisis intervention, offer emotional first aid, and support staff and students. Your very presence becomes a living sermon, and sharing your faith becomes a natural part of your daily professional duties.
3. Back Up Your Calling with Competence
The Apostle Peter gave us the ultimate blueprint for modern faith-sharing when he wrote: "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect."
Notice he said be prepared. Preparation means moving past an amateur, uninformed faith. When you enroll in our Christian Ministry and Theology tracks under the personal mentorship of Bishop Prof. James Jeruya Sindavi, PhD, you build a deep, sophisticated, and mature understanding of scripture and human dynamics.
You gain the intellectual and spiritual confidence to handle hard questions about suffering, morality, and purpose with absolute gentleness, deep intellect, and professional poise. You stop guessing, and you start leading.
Your Career and Your Calling, Perfectly Aligned
You don’t have to choose between being a successful professional and a faithful believer. The most powerful thing you can do in 2026 is to merge the two.
When you back up your spiritual fire with accredited, professional certifications in counseling, chaplaincy, or leadership from AT&TTC Kitale, you stop being an awkward outsider. You become an indispensable community leader whose advice is sought after, whose presence is respected, and whose faith is beautifully evident through your excellence.
